Children’s Ministry Worship

We Believe

  1. Children need to experience corporate worship in the larger
    church setting.
  2. Parents need to learn to worship together as a family.
  3. Modeling (actually doing) is much more powerful than teaching (telling).

Our Purpose

Our reason for integrating children and adults into a corporate worship setting is to educate.

Educate the children that there is more to Sunday school than just and simple melodies and fun hand motions. To introduce them, perhaps for the first time, to the Holy Spirit and to spiritual experiences.

Educate the parents that the Biblical model for teaching, from Deuteronomy 6, is parental involvement.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 And you must think constantly about these commandments I am giving you today. You must teach them to your children and talk about them when you are at home or out for a walk; at bedtime and the first thing in the morning. (TLB—The Living Bible)

Our Philosophy

It is our philosophy that children receive the same Holy Spirit that adults do when they accept Jesus. There is no Junior Holy Spirit that resides in children until such a time that they graduate to the “next stage.” We feel that children should be exposed to all aspects of church life at all ages and stages of their lives. How children act and react as adults depends entirely on how they were taught to act and react as children. Therefore, it is our firm conviction that children should have every opportunity to observe church from all angles and to study how their parents carry out their own spirituality.

It is important to understand that best Sunday school teaching is only as good as the support it receives from the parents and home life.
